A full bathroom renovation at a mid-range finish sits at £5,500 to £8,000 in the Midlands. The calculator adjusts that range for your finish level and region, and shows the source behind it.
What does a new kitchen cost?
A full kitchen renovation at a mid-range finish sits at £10,000 to £18,000 in the Midlands. The biggest swing between two kitchen quotes is the units and appliances: in or out of the price, the total changes a lot.
What does a loft conversion cost?
A dormer loft conversion at a mid-range finish sits at £45,000 to £60,000 in the Midlands. The calculator shows each conversion type with its own range, so you can compare it with a Velux (rooflight) or hip-to-gable conversion.
What does a rear extension of 20 m² cost?
For 20 m² of rear extension at a mid-range finish, the Midlands range is £48,000 to £72,000. Structure and groundwork carry most of that price, and the calculator prices your own size per square metre.
Do these prices include VAT?
Not for certain. Where a guide says its prices exclude VAT, I added 20%. Most guides don't say, so ask each trade whether VAT comes on top. A trade under the £90,000 VAT threshold is often not registered and then charges none. The how-we-price page shows the source and the assumptions behind each project.
